Daniel Kimbro (1809-1883) was a Mexican-American War veteran. He settled the town of Norman's Crossing, originally known as Avery.^[1] Kimbro arrived in San Augustine, Texas in 1836, just before the war of independence.^[2] He was one of the signers of the petition to create Williamson County.^[2]
