David Kahn is an American martial artist and writer. A student of Israeli martial artist and instructor Grandmaster Haim Gidon, Mr. Kahn is IKMA (Israeli Krav Maga Association) United States Chief Instructor. Mr. Kahn authors books on Krav Maga, published in English, Chinese, German, and Polish.

Biography[edit]

David Kahn began Krav Maga instruction with Krav Maga senior instructor Rick Blitstein.[1] (a 1981 graduate of Krav Maga founder Grandmaster Imi Lichtenfeld’s first international instructor’s course).[2] After graduating law school[3], at the behest of Mr. Blitstein[4], Mr. Kahn began regular travel between the US and Netanya[5], Israel for Krav Maga training with IKMA President Grandmaster Haim Gidon.

Mr. Kahn is the only American to sit on the board of IKMA.[6] He is also a board member of FIMA (Federation of Israeli Martial Arts).[7]

Career[edit]

Mr. Kahn has published seven books on Krav Maga and he is a non-practicing attorney. His career spans technology, law, and writing; as well as martial arts instruction to civilians, law enforcement, and military. Feature articles have been written about Mr. Kahn's Krav Maga proficiency in The New Yorker[8], Men's Fitness Magazine[9], NJ.com[10], 6abc Action News[11], Gear Magazine[12], Penthouse Magazine[13], Absolute Magazine[14], and Princeton Alumni Weekly[15]

He has also been quoted as a Krav Maga subject matter expert in articles published in The New York Times[16], The Economist.[17] and the New York Daily News[18]. He played Varsity football at Princeton University and pursues civic advocacy.[19]
