A Dendle is slang for a 3-1 victory in (English) football (soccer). First popularized during the pandemic (2020-22) when groups of people were gathering online to watch games. It is said to have originated because one fan of Plymouth Argyle (Richard (Dick) Dendle) insisted at the beginning of every game that the outcome would be 3-1.
