Die Fakulteit is a South African television comedy series that premiered on e.tv, set in the fictional Hoërskool Oos located in the East Rand of Johannesburg. "Die Fakulteit" explores the lives of the teachers and administrators of Hoërskool Oos [1]
Production[edit]
Die Fakulteit was created, written and directed by television director George van Rooyen and Produced by Marno Koen and Michael van Zyl of CoolerBox Brothers. Season 1 includes 13 episodes and was shot on location at Oosterlig High school in Boksburg, Gauteng. With theme song by South African singer and songwriter Zaan Sonnekus.[2]
Cast and Characters[edit]
- Bibi du Preez[3] portrays Dr. Reinette Naudé, the eccentric principal of Hoërskool Oos.
- Leigh-Ann Fourie as Annetjie Kitshoff, the school secretary.
- Carl Trautman plays Jan Gerber, the science teacher.
- Abel Knobel as Du Toit Meyer, the Rugby coach and Biology teacher.
- Zöricke Snyman portrays Amelia de Waal, the Afrikaans and drama teacher.
- Carien Botha as Susan Steyn, the Geography teacher and hockey coach, known for her competitive spirit both in and out of the classroom.
- Tené Minderon plays Sebine Kritzinger, the new Mathematics teacher.
- Tabitha de Jager as Naledi Makwena, the Home Economics teacher.

- Singer, Zoé and the band Vrede both make cameo appearances.
- Geraldine Pillay-Viret, a former Olympic sprinter, features as Moira Schoonhoven the principal of the neighboring school.
