On June 16 1984, 15-year-old William "Billy" Dale Gunn disappeared in Klamath Falls, Oregon. The boy disappeared under mysterious circumstances and it is believed that foul play was involved in the incident.[1] His case remains unsolved.[2]

Disappearance[edit]

William Dale Gunn went out with his stepfather, Albert Alexander Gunn Jr. on the morning of June 16, 1984 to practice driving skills.[3] His stepfather returned home without William, saying he had dropped him off at a friend's apartment, where William planned to spend the night. He was expected to return home by 6:00 p.m on June 17, the following day, However, William Gunn's friend did not report seeing Gunn on June 16, nor was he seen by any other residents at the apartment complex.[2]

Investigation[edit]

Initially, investigators believed Gunn had run away from home. However, over the intervening years, authorities have come to suspect foul play was involved in Gunn's disappearance.[2]

Albert Alexander Gunn, Jr. (d. 2004) is suspected as being involved by Deanna Gunn, William Gunn's sister. She has described Albert as a violent man who had abused family members in the past, she also suggested that Albert murdered William and discarded of his body in the woods. Albert was sent to prison twice, first for abusing his stepdaughter, and then for stalking his sister.[4]

In 2014, William's sister and a cousin dug up 6 foot trenches over an area of 500 acres in nearby woods in an attempt to find anything relating to the disappearance. they were unsuccessful.[5]

While investigators have a suspect, the case remains unsolved.[6]
