DLynn Proctor (D.Lynn Proctor) is an American sommelier, vintner, film producer, and philanthropist.

Early Life & Education[edit]

DLynn was raised in Oak Cliff, Dallas, Texas. He began his career as a busser and host in local restaurants in the Uptown area of Dallas. He attended Duncanville High School.

Career[edit]

DLynn Proctor has been a figure in the wine industry for more than 20 years. He has spent the last decade-plus in global leadership roles with Penfolds Winery[1] and Fantesca Estate & Winery[2], focusing on import/export, sales, marketing/pr, strategy, and consumer relations. In 2022 Dlynn became a partner in iconic stemware maker, Gabriel-Glas North America.[3]

Filmography[edit]

DLynn got his first entry into film, by playing himself in the documentary film SOMM in 2012, then the subsequent SOMM: Into the Bottle in 2015, and SOMM 3[4] in 2018. He then went on to serve as an associate producer and have a cameo in Uncorked (2020). DLynn is currently the sommelier on the Peacock TV talk show Hart to Heart.[5]

Philanthropy[edit]

DLynn Co-Founded Wine Unify[6], a nonprofit fostering wine education for underrepresented minority groups, and amplifying the voices of the people of color who are already thriving within the wine industry. DLynn Proctor and Fantesca Estate & Winery have endowed St. Philips College in San Antonio, Texas through the 'DLynn Proctor and Fantesca Estate & Winery Scholarship'.[7]
