Domen & Van de Velde is a Belgian photography duo consisting of Giel Domen and Kenneth Van de Velde.[1][2][3] Since their collaboration began in 2010, they have also engaged in exhibitions and created independent artwork.[4] Based in Los Angeles, the duo works globally for various brands and magazines.[5]
Career[edit]
Giel Domen's interest in fashion photography developed during his time as a model, where he walked shows for several international brands. His transition to photography began with conceptual stories of friends, leading to wider recognition in the field.[6]
Kenneth Van de Velde, who met Domen at an international fashion event, complements the partnership with a focus on technical details, while Domen leads in artistic direction. Together, they officially formed Domen & Van de Velde in 2010.[6]
In 2020, they created a campaign for Beauty for a Better World, a non-profit initiative by Designers Against AIDS.[7]
Their portfolio includes work for international publications like Vogue Arabia, Vogue Portugal, Vogue México y Latinoamérica, Vogue Ukraine, V, Vman, and Numéro.[8][9][10][11]
Their collaborations extend to celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton, Willow Smith, Kim Petras, and Emma Chamberlain.[12][13][14][15][16]
Additionally, they have created imagery for brands like Dior, Dior Beauty, and Dolce & Gabbana, including portraits of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, as well as promotional work for Lady Gaga's beauty brand Haus Labs, in partnership with Sephora.[17]
