  • Comment: There are really only 3 references which are repeated multiple times. One is to the company's own website, one is to a blog, and the other to the Eclipse Foundation. There are some other minor references that refer to the company. Collectively these do not demonstrate that the company passes the threshold of notability for Wikipedia. Introduction[edit]

EclipseSource is a company providing services for the development and enhancement of tools and Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) for various technology platforms.[1][2][3][4][5][6] . The company's focus includes software engineering, domain-specific engineering, and modeling tools[7], offering solutions for both web-based[8] and desktop environments[9], including plugins and extensions to IDEs, such as Eclipse Theia[10], Visual Studio Code and Eclipse[11].

History and Background[edit]

EclipseSource was founded in 1997 (formerly named “Innoopract”)[12] and has operated as “EclipseSource” since 2008[13]. In 2003, EclipseSource was selected as the third German company to join the Eclipse consortium (later “Eclipse Foundation”)[14] [15], following SAP and SUSE. EclipseSource operates in North America and Europe with a global customer base. [16]

Technology Expertise and Contributions to Open Source[edit]

The company has initiated and contributed to a variety of open-source projects and regularly publishes technical articles and talks for several technologies relevant to the development of tools and IDEs and including:

  • Eclipse Theia and Visual Studio Code for custom tool and IDE development (Theia project lead and committers[17][18])
  • Graphical modeling frameworks including Eclipse GLSP, GMF, and GEF (Eclipse GLSP Initiator, project lead and committers[19][20])
  • Cloud-based hosting for tools and IDEs through Theia Cloud (Initiator, project lead and committers[21])
  • Modeling frameworks such as EMF and EMF Cloud (EMF Cloud Initiator, project lead and committers[22])
  • C/C++ development tools with CDT and CDT Cloud (CDT Cloud Initiator, project lead and committers[23])
  • Language server and domain-specific language support with LSP, Langium, and Xtext
  • AI integration in tools and IDEs[24]
  • UI frameworks like EMF Forms and JSON Forms (Initiator, project lead and committers[25])
  • Java development and model-based engineering solutions with JDT and Papyrus (Papyrus Committer[26])
  • Core platform development for Eclipse-based applications with the Eclipse 3.x/4 Platform[27] and Eclipse RAP (RAP Initiator, project lead and committers[28])
