Edward Hull Crump Sr. (1838 - 1878) was a political candidate in Mississippi. He lived in Hudsonville, Mississippi. His son became mayor of Memphis Tennessee and a powerful Democrat Party political boss. Crump Sr. died of yellow fever in 1878. He and his wife, Mary “Mollie” Ann Nelms Crump (1843-1940) lived at the historic 1837 Crump Place in Holly Springs.[1] She continued living there after his death.[2]

Crump was involved in contested elections in 1871 and 1873. He was reported to be a den leader of Ku Klux Klan.[3]
