Eeva Primmer (born in 1971) is a Finnish Doctor of Agriculture and Forestry, Docent (Adjunct professor) in Environmental Policy and Research Director at the Finnish Environment Institute (SYKE).[1][2]
Primmer has a PhD in Agriculture and Forestry from the University of Helsinki, and she is a Docent (Adjunct Professor) in environmental policy at the University of Helsinki. Eeva Primmer started working at Syke in 1997. Before her position as Research Director, which started in 2019, Primmer has worked, e.g. as Research Coordinator, Research Professor and Group Leader. Primmer was appointed Research Director for the second term from the beginning of 2024.[3]
Primmer has been a member of the United Nations International Resource Panel (UN-IRP) since 2017. In the autumn of 2023, she was elected to the board of the IPBES panel. Primmer is also a member of the Alternet Council. [1][3]
She has published around 60 peer-reviewed scientific articles, 50 non-refereed scientific articles and 7 books. [2]
