Emad Raouf Naguib an Egyptian entrepreneur and politician, a former leader and one of the founders of the Free Egyptians Party. He resigned in 2017.[1], and founded the Cairo Liberal Club with others. he founded the Capital Center for Studies[2][3].

His research interests focus on the topics of Technology and Digital Transformation, Ending Poverty, Economic Freedoms, Big Data and AI applications, Protecting Digital Human Rights, and the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.

Emad was one of the youth figures who participated in the events of the January 25 Revolution, which overthrew former President Mohamed Hosni Mubarak. and He was one of those who called for Morsi's ouster from power in June 2013.

Background[edit]

Emad was born in Dakahlia, Egypt, on January 20, 1983. He Graduated from the Faculty of Commerce - Cairo University. In 2014 he obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the Faculty of Economics and Political Sciences - Cairo University. also, he obtained a MicroMaster in Data, Economics, and Public Policies from MIT.

His political work[edit]

Emad is a founding member of the Free Egyptians Party. This party was founded by a group of businessmen, politicians, and public figures in April 2011.

Its most important pillar was that it was a civil political party that highlights the Egyptian identity that brings together all Egyptians under one umbrella based on freedom and social justice.

He held many leadership positions within the party, where he won the party’s first elections as a member of the supreme body and was then elected again to be a member of the party’s political bureau in May 2013 [4][5]. He held the position of Deputy Secretary General of the Party, Coordinator of its General Secretariat, and Chairman of the Communications and Information Technology Committee (2013-2017)[6]

  • Strategic Director of the Egyptian Bloc Alliance - Parliamentary Elections 2011
  • Member of the Youth Coordination of Parties and Politicians (CPYP)[8], the Coordination announced from the first day of its establishment that its goal is to strengthen parties and create channels and spaces for communication with the state, through sharing working papers, proposals, and draft laws, and through direct dialogue with officials, in addition to community dialogues, and presenting visions.
  • Founding member of the Cairo Liberal Club (2018)
  • Founder of Capital Center for Studies.

At the international level:

  • He served as a member of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Youth Union for Freedom and Democracy (2012 - 2014)
  • Member of the Executive Office of the Arab Liberal Federation (2012 - 2016)[9]
  • He participated in many electoral campaigns outside Egypt.

Professional Life[edit]

On the professional level, Emad works in the fields of information technology and is an expert in data science and artificial intelligence. He participated in many local and international conferences and has many articles on the topics of digital transformation, ethics of artificial intelligence, personal data protection, and digital human rights.
