Emerson Jones (born 7 July 2008)[1] is an Australian tennis player.[2][3]

Jones trained at the National Tennis Academy in Queensland.[4]

Junior career[edit]
Jones entered the top-10 of the junior tennis rankings in October 2023. Aged 15 years-old, that month in Osaka, she became the youngest Australian to win a J500 title since Ashleigh Barty in 2011.[5] She won the tournament without dropping a set.[6] Seeded six in the Girls' singles at the 2024 Australian Open, she reached the quarterfinals with a straight set win over Tyra Caterina Grant.[7] She then recorded two victories in one day to reach the final, defeating Sara Saito and Iva Ivanova.[8] In the final she faced Renata Jamrichova and lost in straight sets.[9]
Senior career[edit]
Jones entered 2023 as the world’s highest ranked 2008-born player and received a wildcard into qualifying for the Hobart International in January 2023.[10]
She made her debut in the main draw of a Challenger Tour event at the Canberra International in January 2024.[11] Jones received a wildcard into qualifying for the 2024 Australian Open in January 2024 but was defeated by more experienced compatriot Priscilla Hon.[12][13]
Personal life[edit]
From the Gold Coast, her mother Loretta Harrop won a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in the Triathlon. His father, Brad Jones, played Australian Rules Football for Mount Gravatt Football Club and won the Grogan Medal in 1999.[14] Her brother Hayden Jones is also a tennis player.[15]
