Julie Emmily Barreto de Queiroz (born 17 May 1991), known as Emmily Barreto, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, musician, and streamer.[1] who is best known as the lead vocalist member of the bands Far From Alaska and Ego Kill Talent. She has recorded with several Brazilian bands and artists such as Sepultura[2], Lenine, Pitty[3] and more.

Aside from her bands, she is a part time streamer on Twitch.

Biography[edit]

Born and raised in Natal/RN, Emmily Barreto, the daughter of Adson and Jucia Barreto. She has an older brother, Homerson Barreto, who is a gospel singer. Started playing the drums at a really young age (11-12) by the influence of her father, who is a singer and drummer in a Christian church.

Far From Alaska (2010–present)[edit]

Barreto met future bandmates Cris Botarelli and Rafael Brasil at a hardcore concert. Formed Far From Alaska in 2012 alongside Cris Botarelli[4]. In that same year, they won the contest "Som Para Todos", which granted them a distribution contract with Deckdisc.

She moved to São Paulo[5] at the age of 23 in 2014 with Far From Alaska.

Ego Kill Talent (2022-present)[edit]

As the original vocalist, Jonathan Correa left[6] Ego Kill Talent, the band made an announcement in a minimalist and mysterious way on social media, deleting all old Instagram posts and posting captionless photos of each of the four remaining members as well as Emmily Barreto, who is now an oficcial member[7]
