Draft:Everyone Knows That (Ulterior Motives)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Everyone Knows That (also known as “Ulterior Motives”) is a 17 second snippet of what is assumed to come from circa 1988-1998.

History[edit]

In October 2021, a user by the name of “Carl92”[1] posted a 17 second snippet of a song on “whatzatsong.com”, a popular website used to identify certain songs. Carl92 went on to explain the song in its description saying “mid 80s, bad quality.” [2] The song; after it’s release on whatszatsong.com, blew up and theories started to flood the website. A particular user “niski”[3] mentioned it’s low quality like vibe it gave off, and mentioned that it could’ve not been recorded by a cassette, and was most definitely recorded off of the television. He went on to explain that “it contains a 15.734 kHz pilot tone only present in MTS broadcasts exclusive to a selected few countries.” This massive head start, led to exponential theories on the forum and led users to believe it came from an 80s commercial. Some users believed the song was AI generated, but due to the posts time frame, it was debunked as a hoax.

In later years, a channel by the name of “Ani's other channel,”[4] uploaded a 20 second clip on her/his channel named “Unknown Song "Everyone Knows That" (REMASTER),”[5] that would include a comment by a John Doe, that would explain that his father was a person who knew the songs origin, and went on to explain that the song came from a McDonalds Collaboration with Nichion, a certain car company popular in the 80s.

Lyrics[edit]

As of 2021, several renditions of the lyrics for Ulterior Motives have been put out onto the internet. One popular one is considered to be the actual lyrics Lyrics:

You're carrying all your shame in disguise Caught up in your web of lies

[Chorus (?)] Everyone knows that (You’ve got) Ulterior motives (Tell me the truth) Every move shows—[6]
