Fahad Akhtar[edit]

Fahad Akhtar (Born January 18, 1995) is an American political candidate running for United States Senate in New Jersey.[1][2]

Akhtar was born in New Brunswick, New Jersey.[3] He attended North Brunswick Township High School, Rutgers University[4], and Dartmouth College.[5]

Akhtar has worked at Federal Bureau of Investigation, BlackRock, U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State, and The White House. [5]

Education[edit]

Akhtar attended North Brunswick Township High School from 2009 to 2013 where he was the Student Government President and Student Representative to the Board of Education.[6]

He attended Rutgers University - New Brunswick from 2013 to 2017. Akhtar studied Economics and History and graduated with honors. Akhtar held leadership roles in student government, model united nations, student peacemakers, the alumni association, and the economics society. He was a Research Assistant at the National Institute for Early Education Research. Akhtar received the Chancellor's Leadership Award in 2016.[4]

Akhtar graduated from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College in 2022. Akhtar was involved in the Business Bridge Program as a Career Advisor to undergraduates.

Career[edit]

Akhtar worked at BlackRock as a Client Businesses Analyst, Advisor Services Group Manager, and Product Strategist from 2016 to 2020. In 2021, Akhtar was a National Security Innovation Fellow at the U.S. Department of Defense. From 2022 to 2024 he was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation where he was assigned to the Counterintelligence Division in New York. [5]

Akhtar participated in the White House Internship Program during the Presidency of Barack Obama. He also held internships at the U.S. Department of State and U.S. House of Representatives.[6]

Akhtar lives in Princeton, New Jersey with his wife and daughter. [1]
