Farnova Automotive is a former Chinese manufacturer of electric hypercars and buses, based in Shenzhen, operating from 2019 to 2022.
History[edit]
In 2019, a new company, Farnova Automotive, was established in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, which was established on the initiative of Guo Gelin, a wealthy owner of the Farnova Yacht company specializing in luxury boats, yachts and caravans.[1]. The goal for the automotive branch was to develop both electric cars and large buses with the same drive[1]. Back in 2019, Farnova Automotive formed a strategic alliance with another Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, Qiantu Motor, in the field of production and technological cooperation[1]
In September 2021, Farnova presented its product plans, presenting both a pre-production prototype of the Farnova Lightweight 12M electric bus[2]. In addition, the company also presented its flagship model in the form of the electric hypercar, Farnova Othello. The vehicle is to be produced in a limited quantity of 200 units with a price of 1.86 million yuan for each of them[3]. The project failed to be implemented, and Farnova declared bankruptcy in 2022.
