Fleetwood Nautical Campus is a UK maritime academy and part of Blackpool and The Fylde College. The college in is Fleetwood, Lancashire and provides maritime education and training for the British Merchant Navy.
Fleetwood Nautical Campus offers maritime education and training including pathways from level 3 cadetship preparation qualifications, through officer cadetships and degree pathways in nautical science (deck), marine engineering and electro-technical disciplines, as well as preparation for senior officer certificates of competency.
The college also offers blended (distance learning) routes for some qualifications. Fleetwood Nautical Campus is also a provider of training for maritime apprenticeships.
The associated practical safety and survival training that forms part of these training programmes is delivered by sister school Fleetwood Offshore Survival Centre. Fleetwood Nautical Campus and Fleetwood Offshore Survival Centre are co-located on a bespoke campus.
History[edit]
Fleetwood Nautical Campus dates back to 1892, to the opening of Fleetwood's School for Fishermen on Dock Street, Fleetwood. In 1928, the school relocated to the Orient Building on Station Road in Fleetwood and was renamed Fleetwood Navigation School. In 1967, the college located to its current location, and was renamed Fleetwood Nautical College. In 1987, the final change took place when the college merged with Blackpool and the Fylde College and became Fleetwood Nautical Campus.
Blackpool and the Fylde College has had Foundation Degree Awarding Powers since 2016 and in 2022 was awarded full Degree Awarding Powers.
In 2011, Fleetwood campus underwent a major refurbishment and in 2012, the newly refitted campus was opened by Trinity House Master Princess Anne. Investment in the campus has continued, with a new Marine Engineering Centre opening in 2017 and last enhanced in 2022. A ten year plan for future development is currently being designed.

Fleetwood Nautical Campus delivers a range of MCA approved education and training programmes[1] across the nautical science (deck), marine engineering and electro-technical disciplines:
- Preparation for Cadetship
- Maritime Apprenticeships
- Advanced Certificates (validated by SQA)
- Advanced Diplomas (validated by SQA)
- Foundation Degrees (until summer 2024*)
- BSc Top Up – Maritime Operations Management (validated by Lancaster University)
- Exam and oral preparation for Officer of the Watch, Chief Mate and Masters Certificates of Competency
- Bridge Management and Ship Handling (various levels), including NAEST, ECDIS, HELM and GMDSS
- Advanced Tanker Cargo Handling Operations – liquid, liquified gas and oil
- Vessel Traffic Service (VTS) courses
