Flow Neuroscience was founded in 2016 by computational neuroscientist Erik Rehn and psychologist Daniel Månsson.
Flow - Depression treatment[edit]
In 2019 Flow Neuroscience received regulatory approval in the EU and UK for the treatment of major depressive disorder. The product, called Flow, is a noninvasive brain stimulation headset which is used by the patients themselves at home[3][4]. The headset delivers weak direct electrical current via electrodes to restore activity in the left frontal lobe[5]. In 2023, the UK NICE reviewed the evidence for Flow and concluded that the device is beneficial for those who do not improve with existing interventions or have side-effects from medication, but that it can also be used as a first-line treatment.[6]
