Draft:Frank Rowe Kenison

Frank Rowe Kenison (November 1, 1907 – 1980) was a justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court from 1946 to 1977, serving as chief justice from 1952 to 1977.

Born in Conway, New Hampshire, to Arthur Edon and Isadore Rowe Kenison, Kenison received a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1929 followed by a law degree from Boston University in 1932.^[1]

After being admitted to the New Hampshire Bar in 1932, he returned to Conway to practice law. He served as Carroll County Solicitor from 1935 - 1937 and Assistant Attorney General of New Hampshire from 1937 - 1940. He served as Attorney General of New Hampshire from 1940 to 1942 and again from 1945 to 1946 after having served three years with the U. S. Naval Reserve. He was appointed Associate Justice of the New Hampshire Supreme Court in 1946 and Chief Justice in 1952.^[1]

On February 8, 1946, Kenison was nominated by Governor Charles M. Dale to a seat on the state supreme court set to be vacated by Justice Elwin L. Page reaching the state's mandatory retirement age.^[2]

Kenison married Loretta M. Landry, with whom he had three children.^[1]
