Freddie Smithson also known as Freddie Made is a British social media personality and Creative Director in the world of fashion and luxury and was previously the Senior Creative of Social Media at Burberry.[1]
Biography[edit]
Born in Leeds, Smithson grew up in Harrogate, attended Leeds Arts University and studied Graphic Communication at Bath School of Art and Design in Bath, Somerset.
Prior to becoming Burberry's Senior Creative for Social in 2020, Smithson worked at Henry Holland's fashion label House of Holland. He also works with fashion houses including Dior, Valentino and Jimmy Choo as well as publishers Highsnobiety, Vogue Italia and Garage Magazine.
Smithson is known for his Instagram account freddiemade which he has run since 2016 and has amassed a following of over 130,000 people, where he was an early adopter of Fashion memes. Fans of Smithson's work include pop star Rihanna who in 2017 shared controversial edits of Smithson's on her Instagram account, depicting The Queen's head on her own body in varying outfits,[2] which was widely shared and discussed in press and media globally at the time. Smithson has been voted 'Best Fashion meme'[3] on multiple occasions by Vogue Magazine, and is considered one of the social media fashion industry's most influential members.[4]
