Frederick Allen is an author, journalist and commentator in Atlanta, Georgia. He was a political commentator for CNN. Before that he was a columnist for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. He was part of The Georgia Gang discussiom show.[1] Emory University has a collection of his papers.[2]

He reviewed Charles McNair's book on Atlanta mayor Sam Massell.[3]

He won the inaugural Michael P. Malone Award from the Western History Association for his research into vigilante symbolism. Working on a book about Theodore Roosevelt?

Graduated from Phillips Academy in Andover, Masachusetts and received a BA in journalism from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Married and lives in Atlanta and Montana.
