Draft:Gemma Sharples
Submission declined on 3 February 2024 by Paul W (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

- Comment: Being a world record-holder does not automatically confer notability (and the record is for a strange triathlon variant - see Ultra-triathlon); otherwise, being a fundraiser, starting a company and appearing on TV are routine achievements that, even collectively, do not merit a Wikipedia article. The article is almost solely supported by references to local newspapers (prone to reliance on publicists, PR and churnalism); is there significant coverage in reliable, independent, published sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy? Gemma Louise Sharples (born 8 January 1982) is an English business coach and athlete. In 2023, she broke a Guinness world record for the longest single event triathlon.[1]
In 2022, Sharples completed a 100-mile run to raise funds for Zoë's Place Baby Hospice.[2] In 2023, she broke the single event triathlon record - held by her partner Steven Green.[1] In December 2023, she launched a sportswear brand, Discipline.[3]
Sharples, Green, their daughter Sadie, and Green's two-year-old granddaughter Arianna, appeared on Channel 5 show Rich House Poor House in 2019.[4][5]
