Georg Allikas[1] (born 28 November 1986) is a Estonian former motocross rider. He began riding motocross at around the age of 9 and concluded his career in 2008 at the age of 22. In 2005, he commenced studies at Taltech in product development and production engineering, earning a BSc and MSc (cum laude) degree in product development and production engineering. Upon entering university, he dedicated more time to his studies than to motocross.

Achievements[edit]

From 1998 to 2001, Georg owned a silver or bronze medal every year at the Estonian Championships. Although he did not become the Estonian champion, he won several cup series, first in 1998.[2] In 2001, Georg was named the best young motocross athlete of the year, thanks to his 18th place in the 85cc class at the Junior European Championships.[3]

World Junior Cup:[edit]

  • 2002 Austria, Möggers – 26th place;[4]
  • 2003 Italy, Asti – 23th place. A heatstroke suffered in the first start led to a failure in the overall competition. Unfortunately, Georg was unable to recover for the second start;[5]
  • 2004 Latvia, Kegums – 19th place. The DNF of the first race did not allow him to achieve a good final result.[6]

Other notable achievements:[edit]

  • 2005 Open Estonian Motocross Championships 2nd place;
  • 2007 MX1 Estonian Cup Motocross 3rd place;
  • 2007 EMX-Open (European Championships) GP of Siauliai, Lithuania 13th place;[7]
  • 2008 E3 Estonian Cross Country Championships 3rd place.

Informally summarizing, he has been:[edit]

  • 6x Estonian Motocross Championships silver;
  • 2x Estonian Motocross Championships bronze;
  • 1x Latvian Motocross Championships silver and bronze;
  • 2x Estonian Cup gold in Motocross and 1x in Cross Country.
