Georgia Washington was an educator and school founder. She founded what became known as the People’s Village School in Mt. Meigs, Alabama.[2][3]

The school was acquired by Montgomery County and was eventually renamed the Georgia Washington School. She was buried in school grounds. A historical marker commemorates its history.[4]

The school is on Georgia Washington Road.
