Gili Haimovich is a bilingual prize-winning Israeli poet with Canadian background. She is the author of ten poetry books, four in English and six in Hebrew, in addition to the multilingual book of her poem Note. Her work as a literary translator includes two Estonian poetry books renditioned in Hebrew.

Gili is the winner of the international Italian poetry competitions I colori dell'anima for best foreign poet (2020) and the Ossi di Seppia international poetry competition (2019), a grant for excellency by the Ministry of Culture of Israel (2015), a fellowship from the International Writers’ Workshop at Hong Kong Baptist University (2021) and more. Her forthcoming book in Hebrew, Nisu’em Beprida (Experiments in Parting) won a grant from Acum – The Israeli Association of Authors, as did her previous Hebrew book, Orot Nechita (Landing Lights,2017) as well as the previous one, Tinoket (Baby Girl, 2014). Her second book in Hebrew, Mistakefet Kmo Osher, (Reflected Like Joy, 2002), won The Pais Grant for Culture. Her poems are translated into 33 languages: English (in addition to her original poetry in English), Spanish, French, Italian, Romanian, Bangla, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Romanian, Portuguese, Hindi, Arabic, Turkish, Hungarian, Russian, Macedonian, Persian, Serbian, German, Albanian, Georgian, Bosnian, Greek, Haka, Taiwanese, Kannada, Gujarati, Mongolian, Estonian, Montenegrin, Nepali and Yiddish.

Haimovich is featured in anthologies and journals worldwide such as: World Literature Today, The Best Asian Poetry, 101Jewish Poems for the Third Millennium, Tok – Writing the New Toronto, New Voices - Contemporary Writers Confronting the Holocaust as well as variety of festivals and events in Canada, Mexico, France, Chile, Italy, Kenya, Romina, Taiwan, India, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Kosovo, Estonia and more and major publications in Israel such as The Most Beautiful Poems in Hebrew – A Hundred Years of Israeli Poetry, A Naked Queen – An Anthology of Israeli Social Protest Poetry. Gili also practices visual art, teaching creative writing in Israel and abroad and has a background as a writing focused intermodal arts therapist.
