Godbeast Megazord, aka Celestial Warriors (神兽金刚;Shénshòu jīngāng) is a chinese superhero animated franchise created by Guangzhou Dali Animation. It was created in 2009, and the show has been aired in several chinese children's television channels like CCTV 14, BRTV Kaku, Aniworld, and more. The franchise currently has six seasons and a feature film which was released in 2016. The overall concept of "Godbeast Megazord" is mostly derived from the Super Sentai franchise, notably Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger.
Reception & Controversy[edit]
Although being considered the "national-level" animation media, Godbeast Megazord is very controversial and has been accused by the netizens for plagiarizing various elements from Toei's Super Sentai.
Many netizens had pointed out that Godbeast plagiarized several elements from a few Sentai shows, such as the mecha design of Daizyujin from Zyuranger, for creating the titular robot of the show, the second season's opening sounding identical to Engine Sentai Go-Onger's opening, and the third season, known as Super Star Armor had plagiarized the transformation trinkets of Ninningers from Shuriken Sentai Ninninger.
Despite all the controversy aimed at the franchise, the creators of the show never received any legal response from Toei.[1]
