Draft:Graveyard BBQ

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

GRAVEYARD BBQ is an American ‘Dirtcore’ band from Waltham, MA formed in 2003. The band is most well-known for winning the "Be A Guitar Hero" contest to be immortalized on the original GUITAR HERO video game. Their song “Cheat on the Church” quickly became a fan favorite, and subsequently gained them world-wide recognition while cultivating a diehard fan base they call the “BBQ NATION.” Their original “DIRTCORE” brand is a music style/genre created by Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter, Brownbag Johnson ‘aka’ the “King of Sling.” It’s a unique sound that’s been described as, “sizzlin’ slabs of monstrous Metal Riffage marinated in Mojo & Soul infused with High Voltage RocknRoll, Electrifying Slide Guitar, & Delta Country-fried Blues” served up on 6 studio albums of “adrenaline-fueled, hellraisin’ anthems seasoned with a hearty dose of tongue-in-cheek humor”. The ‘lore’ behind the band is that they made a Deal with the Devil at the Crossroads that went sideways, and they’ve been payin’ their dues ever since… 20 years later, the current lineup of Brownbag Johnson, (bassist) Bud Black, Billy Z. Bubb (drums), and (guitarist) Brian Higgins continues to fire up audiences everywhere with unforgettable, high-energy, over-the-top live performances and good ole’ fashioned fun that invokes the true spirit of Freedom & RocknRoll!

Motto: ALL HAIL THE BBQ NATION! “IF YOU AIN’T WITH US, YER AGAINST US!”
