Gurugram Heliport Hub, near Global City in Gurugram city of Haryana state, is an upcoming heliport hub for the Delhi NCR in India. It is one of the 10 national helicopter hubs envisaged in the Indian Civil Aviation Ministry's new helicopter policy. This hub will fulfill the NCRPB Regional Plan 2041's goal of introducing heli-taxi services in NCR, including from this heliport hub to IGI Airport and various destinations in Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and other states within 2 hours heli-flying distance.[1] It being developed as India's most modern and the largest heli hub.[2]

Details[edit]

It is being established on 25 acre near Global City, sectors 36 and 37. Heli hubfacilities include heliport, hangers, repairs and other related services.[1] It is a joint venture between Haryana Civil Aviation Department and Central Government's PSU the Pawan Hans. Site selection is done by Haryana government and feasibility study and detailed technical planning is done by Pawan Hans.[3]

Air[edit]

This heliport hub will have highly services to IGI Airport and various destinations within 2 hours heli-flying distance, disconnecting various major industrial hubs and important towns in the region.[1] Gurugram Airstrip, Noida International Airport, Narnaul Airport, Hisar Airport, etc are all within 2 hours flying distance.

Road[edit]

It is near Dwarka Expressway and, NH-48.[1] It is close to the new Gurugram Inter State Bus Terminus, being constructed on 15 acres near Kherki Daula toll plaz where Dwarka Expressway meets Delhi-Jaipur Highway NH48.[4]

Train and metro[edit]

It is relocated close to the upcoming metro rail corridor.[1] It is also near the Delhi–Alwar RRTS.

Current status[edit]

  • 2022 Oct: Government of Haryana transferred 25 acres in Gurugram to the Indian government for the development of heli hub.[1]
  • 2023 July: Union civil aviation minister endorsed the support for this hub.[3]
