Halienne is a character in Halienne: The Killing Girl. She is of partial Senegalese descent, and is a white African who is born in Lyon, France and raised in Dakar, Senegal.

Early life[edit]

Halienne Ivoire Gueye is an European who is born to a black Senegalese Wolof teacher father, M'baye Gueye Seck, and a white French mother, Claire Jocelyne Ivoire, who is a fashion designer. She is fluent in English, French and Wolof. She is named after Cote d'Ivoire, another country in West Africa.


In the beginning of the movie, Halienne speaks Wolof. She is the only white woman who can speak Wolof because she was born to a Senegalese father who also speaks the language. Her marital last name is Ivoire, and her paternal is Gueye.
