Helensburgh Thistle F.C. is a British Assocation Football Club (Soccer) based in Helensburgh, NSW, the most Northern town in the district of Illawarra. They play at Rex Jackson Oval. Having being founded Pre-Australian Federation, Helensburgh Thistle is one of few contunious running soccer clubs that has been operating since colonial times.

Founded in 1890[1], originally playing under the name of Helenburgh Rovers. They played their first recorded match in their history against Caledonians on 24th of May 1890. In 1894, they started being listed on team sheetsas the 'Helensburgh Boomerangs'.[2] First listed as Helensburgh Thistle in the 1903 season in which they were locals champions in both the Mens and Boys league.[3]
