Henry Pixley was editor-in-chief of the Chicago Times-Herald and a playwright. He wrote The Carpetbagger, adapted Florodora for the American stage before collaborating with musician Gustav Luders.[1]

In 1904 the Indianapolis Journal ran an interview where he gave advice to would-be playwrights.[2]
