iPEC is a coach training organization that provides remote and in-person training for individuals around the world. Since its founding in 1999, iPEC became one of the first organizations to offer a coach training program accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Today, iPEC provides people with the opportunity to become a certified coach in one of four niche areas, to advance their career through coaching, or to strengthen their organization through coaching.

iPEC was named one of the Best Life Coach Certification Programs Of 2023..[1] and of 2024[2] by Forbes and one of the "3 Best Life Coach Certification Programs (2023)[3]" by The Dallas Morning News.

History[edit]

iPEC was founded in 1999 by coach, philosopher, and speaker Bruce D. Schneider, who attributes the decision to finding his purpose after surviving a deadly car accident in 1978. In the decades since, iPEC has continued to grow and has produced more than 25,000 certified coaches worldwide.

In March of 2023, it was announced that iPEC had acquired Verus Global[4], a consulting and training group based in Littleton, CO, that focuses on equipping companies with resources to help their employees work together to achieve success.

Philosophy[edit]

The coaching philosophy of iPEC is rooted in the concept that there is vast, unrealized potential in all of us, and that the key to awakening that potential is to access deeper self-awareness and higher levels of consciousness. Through its coach training program, iPEC strives to give people the ability to access higher levels of consciousness and to confidently draw upon it as a powerful force within their own lives.

The concept of Energy Leadership™ is also key to iPEC's philosophy. Schneider introduced the concept in his book, Energy Leadership: Transforming Your Workplace and Your Life from the Core, and defined it as "the process that develops a personally effective style of leadership, one that positively influences and changes not only yourself, but also those with whom you work and interact, as well as your organization as a whole.” Schneider says that Energy Leadership is also the “ability to shift, or lead, energy to make it work for you, those around you, and your organization.”[5]

Niche Certification Options[edit]

iPEC offers coach training and certification in four unique areas:

  • Life Coaching
  • Executive Coaching
  • Health & Wellness Coaching
  • Sports & Performance Coaching

Life Coaching[edit]

Life coaching focuses on helping clients identify their personal dreams, recognize obstacles, navigate transitions, and create happier, more passion-filled[6] lives. The duties of a life coach include creating strategies to help clients succeed, evaluating clients' progress, encouraging clients to accomplish their goals, giving professional advice as needed, and providing clients with resources that can help them grow in their desired direction[7].

In January of 2024, iPEC was said to have the "Most Comprehensive Life Coaching Certification Program" in the industry by Sports Illustrated[8].

Executive Coaching[edit]

Executive coaching focuses on coaching professional leaders to recognize and shift common stress factors, energy drains, and organizational challenges. iPEC's coach training program has been used to focus on mindset and small-business psychology, including helping people grow out of mental ruts that so often can be at the root of other symptoms like money stress and lack of confidence[9].

Health & Wellness Coaching[edit]

Executive coaching focuses on supporting clients as they develop healthier habits and lifestyles.

Sports & Performance Coaching[edit]

Sports and performance coaching focuses on supporting the success of clients whose life and work involves performances, ranging from leaders and performing artists to professors and sales professionals.

Other Applications[edit]

Education[edit]

Coach training through iPEC has also been used to help educators empower themselves and their students to reach their highest potential, including instilling teachers, principals, and superintendents with the leadership and team-building skills and tools needed to focus on the whole child and to engage with students, teachers, and the community at large[10]

Personal Empowerment & Trauma[edit]

Coaches that have attained their certification through iPEC have also used their training to perform personal empowerment and trauma coaching, which focuses on helping clients overcome specific trauma in their own lives[11]
