Illuminate Me is a post-hardcore/metalcore band that was created in 2013 by Christopher Murray in Tampa, Florida. The band is known for their over-the-top exhilarating live performances and chaotic nature within their music. The band currently consists of vocalist Christopher Murray, bassist Kyle Kleemichen and drummer Stevie McDonald II.
Signing to Tragic Hero Records for their debut album "I Have Become A Corpse" (2014), [1] the band embarked on multiple tours under the label and were featured in many national magazines like Alternative Press, Revolver, Metalsucks, and more. [2] The album featured guest vocalists such as Garret Rapp from The Color Morale, Landon Tewers from The Plot In You, and Jerry Roush from Glass Cloud. [3] The band at this time consisted of Christopher Murray, Chris Jacobsen, Corey Jacobsen, Kealy Hatton, Sebastian Quintero. The band went on a hiatus for many years citing the record label as being the main source of the issue, having no support and not being responsive consistently while on the road.
In February of 2015, Christopher Murray started a petition against Facebook stating that the ad platform was a disservice to all artists trying to reach their own fanbase.[4] [5] [6]
The band reunited in late 2022 with Christopher Murray as vocalist once more, Ian and Kyle Gray on drums and guitar, Cody Hanlon on second guitar, and Jack Jallo on bass. They released a four track EP titled "Dying on a Hill Nobody Remembers" featuring Oshie Bichar from Beartooth and Aaron Heard from Jesus Piece as guest vocalists.[7]
On May 22nd, 2023 Jack Jallo passed away, leaving the band in disarray once more. A few months after, the band hosted a benefit show for Jack's passing donating over five thousand dollars to Tampa Bay Thrives.[8]
The band is currently working on a new EP.
