Draft:Jean-Luc Beauchard
Submission declined on 25 January 2024 by Asilvering (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia.

- Comment: Plausibly notable - what you have to do is show that either he himself meets the guidelines (see links in the automated decline message), or that both of his books pass WP:NBOOK. The easiest way to do the latter is to show that each book received multiple substantial academic reviews. If you can't find this yet (because these books are quite recent), I suggest hanging onto this draft. It might be WP:TOOSOON for now, but he's very likely to become notable if he keeps publishing. asilvering (talk) 18:48, 25 January 2024 (UTC)

Early Life[edit]
Jean-Luc Beauchard was born to French immigrants and was raised by his aunt from ten to sixteen.[2]
Career[edit]
Beauchard published his first book, The Mask of Memnon, in 2022. It has been described as a work of "literary theory, philosophy, theology, [and] literary analysis"[3] Throughout the book, Beauchard discusses the concept of meaninglessness in relation to aesthetics—specifically the novel. He does this through a discussion on Roland Barthes' theory on the death of the author from the perspective of the character.[4]
In his most recent book, City of Man, Beauchard offers an unorthodox interpretation of Plato's Republic that takes into account thinkers of modernity, such as Nietzsche or Freud.[5]
Beauchard's upcoming book Philosophical Fragments on Human Sexuality is forthcoming with Senex Press.[6]
