Jemima Oluwafunmilola Adelekan, professionally known as Jemima Adelekan, is a Nigerian actress, broadcaster, filmmaker, content creator, host, and model. She was known for her appearance in Dangerous Silence, Okoto The Series, Awon Aladun De, Breath of Life, Chronicles.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Jemima is from Awe, Oyo state, Southern Nigeria. As a teenager, she discovered a passion for acting and participated in several church dramas.

She obtained her secondary education from SPED International Secondary School, Oyo, Oyo State. and is an alumna of University of Ilorin, where she studied Health promotion (graduated in 2016).

Career[edit]

Jemima Adelekan started red carpet hosting in 2010. When she was in school, she hosted events, worked at the University of Ilorin radio, moved on to red carpet, before she switched to television and then to radio broadcast.

After graduation from University of Ilorin, Jemima relocated to Ibadan to pursue her acting and hosting ambitions. She worked as a radio broadcaster at Jamz 100.1fm Ibadan, where she was popularly known as Media Cupid.

In 2022, as a passionate actress, Jemima [1] [2] featured in lot of movies and series such as Dangerous Silence[3], Okoto: the Series (an Africa Magic production) where she performed as an undergraduate student named, Sola, Oasis (an horror short film), Awon Aladun De, Dangered Fate, Nemesis, 11th hour, and many more.

Jemima Adelekan[4] won the best actress, at the Crown Point International Film Festival when she featured in the short film, Dangerous Silence. In the movie, she acted as Lila, a lady that was sexually exploited by Gathee and Chiumbo (roles played by Otega Igho and Olaide Almaroof respectively) while having sex for a fee.

Jemima made a unique TV appearance hosting The BreakOut Session show, which was aired on Nigerian Television Authority, BCOS, and Kwara Television. The show involved the interaction with interesting guests, with a distinction of live music during the interview session. The show was produced by Darasimi Inaolaji.

In recent revelation, Jemima Adelekan claims she faced some challenges[5] when she tried to fit in as a commercial model and fast rising actress in Nigeria.

In 2023, Jemima featured in the Amazon film production, Breath of Life. She also featured in another Africa Magic series production, title Chronicles. As a passionate actress, Jemima believes she can play every role given to her.
