Joel Reichow (b. July 24, 1993) is a professional distance runner from White Bear Lake, Minnesota. He won the 2023 Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon and placed 14th in the 2023 Chicago Marathon, ranking him the 16th fastest male marathoner in the U.S, and qualifying him for the 2024 Olympic Trials.[1]
High school career[edit]

Reichow ran for White Bear Lake High School, cross country and track from 2008 to 2012, and competed in the Minnesota AA State Championship Meet all four years for cross country and once for track his senior year (2012) placing 9th with a 4:17.46 in the 1600m.[2]
Collegiate career[edit]
South Dakota State University[edit]
After graduating High school in 2012 Reichow continued his running career and education at South Dakota State University. At SDSU he was a 2 time division one cross country NCAA all-American and finished in 20th at nationals in 2016.[2] Reichow also set three records at SDSU: 13:53.05 in the outdoor 5000m, 14:07.19 for the indoor 5000m, and 28:55.84 in the outdoor 10,000m (beating his Olympian coach, who is ranked 4th at SDSU).[2] He graduated with a bachelor's of science in biology in 2017 and began training with team Minnesota Distance Elite.[2]
Professional career[edit]
Minnesota Distance Elite[edit]
Reichow represented Team USA at the 2019 NACAC Cross Country Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.[3] In 2021, he ran personal bests of 28:23 in the 10,000m and placed 6th at the 2021 USATF 10 Mile Championships in 47:36, and 3rd at the 2022 USATF Marathon Championships in 2:12.11.[2] He officially joined the team in September 2018. Most recently Reichow raced a personal best of 2:10.37 at the 2023 Chicago Marathon placing 14th overall.[4]
