Johann Siegmundt Sultzberger[1] (1670–1685) served as a senior official for Johann Georg I (Elector of Saxony) and Duke Moritz of Saxe-Zeitz.[2]
Early life and career[edit]
Johann Siegmundt Sultzberger, born in Graz, was the son of Sigismund Friedrich Sultzberger, a council builder based in Leipzig.
Sultzberger served as a bailiff in Suhl, Henneberg county, from 1656.[3]
In 1661, Duke Moritz directed him to Schleusingen, where he participated in witch hunts in Schleusingen and Suhl.
Personal life[edit]
Johann Siegmundt Sultzberger first married Anna Maria Kade and later Sophie Elisabeth, daughter of Anton Günter Bötschen.[3]
Literature[edit]
Sultzberger made literary contributions, including "Memorandum of the City of Schleusingen" (1833) and "Chronicle of the City of Suhl" (1841).
