John D. White (1915 – November 19, 1999)[1] was a justice of the Kentucky Supreme Court during 1986 from March to December.

Born in East Liverpool, Ohio, and raised in Manchester, Kentucky.[1]

His studies at the University of Louisville Law School were interrupted by World War II. Justice White served in the South Pacific and participated in the liberation of the Philippines He then returned to U of L and took up law practice in Manchester. In 1955 he left the law and entered seminary. He was a Presbyterian minister in Manchester from 1958 until the 1970s when he retired to care for his ailing wife. White He later returned to the law serving as assistant Clay County commonwealth's attorney and Clay County attorney Justice White was appointed by Gov Julian Carroll to the first Kentucky Court of Appeals formed in 1976. He twice won re-election. In 1986 Governor Martha Layne Collins appointed White to serve the unexpired term of state Supreme Court Justice Calvin Aker. Justice White retired from the bench after his successor was elected.[1]

White died in Olathe, Kansas, at the age of 85.[1]
