John Simcock (1630 – March 27, 1703)[1][2] was a speaker of the Pennsylvania Provincial Assembly from 1696 to 1697, and justice of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, assuming office on January 20, 1686.[3] He was chief justice in 1690.
Simcock was born in England, likely in Cheshire. A "friend and political ally of William Penn", Simcock moved to Pennsylvania and became wealthy through real estate ventures.[1]
Simcock served in the first Assembly in 1682 and was re-elected again in 1693 and 1696. During his service in the first session of the Colonial Assembly, Simcock was appointed to the Committee of Foresight, which developed bills which would come before the Assembly. On October 26, 1696, Simcock was elected the 11th Speaker of the Assembly.[1]

Simcock married Elizabeth in England, with whom he had four daughters and two sons.[1]
