KRS Nisarga Township (ಕೆ.ಆರ್.ಎಸ್ ನಿಸರ್ಗ ಬಡಾವಣೆ) is a mega housing project by Karnataka Housing Board formed in northwestern Mysuru. KRS Nisagra was named as it is right next to the Krishna Raja Sagara - KRS dam location. The layout has 6,309 sites, 207 houses, 18 civic amenity site, 12 commercial complexes and 54 parks.

Geography[edit]

The layout is formed of three villages Gungralchatra, Yelachahalli and Kallurunaganahalli Kaval of Ilawala hobli, layout has three blocks (1st Block, 2nd Block and 3rd Block). KHB has developed KRS Nisarga Badavane on 489 acres of land by spending Rs. 686.02 crore.

The Layout will be developed with bus depot, police station, hospital, drinking water facility and all other civic amenities. The Housing Department will provide Rs.7.5 crore and MUDA will provide Rs.7.5 crore for infrastructure development.[1]

Highway

Mysuru-Madikeri Economic Corridor Expressway, New National Highway 275 Bengaluru-Mysuru-Madikeri is passing in front of KRS Nisarga Badavane.[2][3]

The Karnataka State Highway KA SH 117 passing through layout(Ilawala to K R Nagara). There are direct buses(Transport in Mysore) from Mysore City bus stand to KRS Nisarga layout(PF Number 10 and 28, Route Number 266N, 272YK/YY, 274D, 275, 276 and 278A). Ilwala has a satellite bus stand which is 4 km away that serves regular buses to and from Mysore City bus stand. KSRTC buses going towards Madikeri and Hassan will also stop here.

Railway

The nearest railway station is Kallur Yadahalli which is 3 km and Krishnarajasagar which is 5 km away but only few passenger trains stop here, these stations connects to Mysore and Hassan(Daily Route : 06213 Arsikere to Mysuru Express Special and 06214 Mysuru to Arsikere Express Special). The nearest main railway station is Mysore Junction which is 17 km from the layout.

The nearest airport is Mysore Airport which is 28 km and nearest international airport is Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore which is 180 km.
