Kamal Hassan Muhamed better known as Kamal Muhamed Moti (born Kamaljith Rajaram on 8 September 1964) is an Indian entrepreneur, author, human rights activist and social worker. Moti received various accolades under his name for his passionate social and humanitarian reforms.

Early Life and Education[edit]

Kamal was born September 8 1964 originally born as a Hindu in Kannur, Kerala to a middle-class family, he later embraced Islam. Moti had a troubled childhood, describing himself as a "problematic child" who performed poorly academically. He was dismissed from three different schools for misbehavior before dropping out after failing his 10th standard exams. He then left home to find work.

Career[edit]

Moti held various jobs early in his career including as a ticket clerk, loading worker, taxi driver, and factory manager's assistant. After his father's death, he took over the family business before moving to the UAE to work as a sales coordinator and then supermarket supervisor.

In 1995, Moti was arrested after filing a complaint against his employer for unpaid salaries for 8 months, leading to a counter-suit accusing him of fraud and physical attack. He was kept under remand as part of investigation for almost 3 years and 10 months before being acquitted in 1998 when his employer was arrested for financial fraud instead. It was during this imprisonment that Moti converted to Islam.

After his release, Moti worked as a freelancer before moving to Yemen in 2001 after his second marriage. There he started an import/export business liasoning that expanded into government contracts and healthcare. When war broke out in Yemen in 2015, Moti aided in the evacuation of Indians during Operation Rahat, which inspired his later human rights work.

In India, Moti became a business associate at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and started the medical tourism company Well Med Trip based in Mauritius.[1][2] He served as director for Ariel Foundation International in Switzerland as head of SAARC before resigning.[3][4] Moti is currently the Kerala State chairman of the All India Human Rights Protection Council[5] (signatory member of United Nations Global Compact[6]) Director of National Council for News Broadcasting.[7][8]

In 2024, Moti published his autobiography "Daring Prince : Truth Revealed"[9] recounting his dark and light experiences of his life.[10]
