He graduated from Seongnam High School in Seoul and obtained a bachelor's degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Sogang University, and a master's degree in Media and Information from Hanyang University. In 1976, he began his career in advertising upon joining Cheil Worldwide.

Career and Achievements[edit]

In 2007, he assumed the role of CEO and Chairman at Cheil Worldwide.[2] Aside from two assignments to the public relations team of the Samsung Group Chairman's office, he consistently pursued a career in advertising throughout his tenure at Cheil. For his contributions, he was honored with the CNBC Asia Business Leader Award in 2008 and Republic of Korea Bronze Tower Industrial Medal in 2012. He also gained substantial recognition on the global stage, becoming the first from South Korea to win the Grand Prix at the Cannes Advertising Festival, as well as receiving numerous prestigious creative awards worldwide.
