Kraig Krause is a Canadian broadcast journalist. Krause has been a reporter and anchor for Canadian Television (CTV News) and Global News.
Beginning his career in 2014, Krause was a reporter and anchor at local stations in Winnipeg, Kingston, Barrie and Vancouver.
He began his career in 2014 when he joined his hometown hockey club the Chilliwack Chief as their play-by-play broadcaster. [1]
Krause joined CTV News Winnipeg as a reporter in 2017 after managing a newsroom in northern British Columbia and anchoring their nightly newscast. [2]
He later returned to Ontario in 2018, where he accepted a reporter role with Global News in Kingston, Ontario. While in eastern Ontario, Krause began receiving national attention for his investigative and breaking news reporting. In 2019, he worked on an award-winning series on alleged sexual assaults in Ontario foster care. [3]
Krause was also on the frontline of the Wet’suwet’en protests that shut down rail service in parts of the country in February 2020. [4]
During his time in Ontario, Krause provided extensive coverage of a manslaughter trial involving a 13-year-old girl who was accused of killing a man at a Brockville park. [5]
He also was the first to interview a woman involved in a Sexsomia case that received global attention. [6]
Krause joined the Canadian Television News again in 2021 as an anchor/reporter in central Ontario. His work here included being on the ground during a devastating tornado and multiple officers being killed in the line of duty. [7] [8]
In 2023, Krause left Ontario and returned to his home province of British Columbia and joined CTV News Vancouver where he currently works as CTV Morning Live's reporter and occasional host. [9]
