Kyōshirō 2030 (Japanese: 狂四郎2030) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masaya Tokuhiro.

Overview[edit]

The manga was serialized in Shueisha's anthology Super Jump from 1997 to 2004.
In addition to a robust story that delves deeply into the negative aspects of human nature, such as the idea that genes determine the superiority and inferiority of everything, a thoroughly controlled society, the psychology of murder, and the contradictions of a "utopia," there are also serious scenes. However, Masaya Tokuhiro's style of never forgetting to include a gag is still intact, making this work a kind of situation comedy.
In a dark and hopeless worldview, the hero and heroine's single-minded desire to meet each other and the presence of the hero's sidekick express the strength of the human heart.
The blurb describes this work as a 'near-future science fiction adventure sexy violence love romance jerk-off comedy dick manga(It's described in Japanese as"近未来SF冒険SEXYバイオレンスラブロマンスせんずりコメディちんこ漫画")[1]

Synopsis[edit]

Yagi Arc(Volume 1, Episode 1-Volume 5, Episode 37)
After World War III, Japan became a drastic controlled society with a policy of gender segregation under the dictatorship of the Genomic Party, which advocates Eugenics.
In this situation, Kyoshiro Meguri who is minor police officer and was once a very strong soldier starts his journey from Kantō region to Hokkaido [a]where the central government's electronic control center located in order to really meets Shino (Yurika), whom he met and married through a virtual sex machine.
However, Major General Yagi stands in Kyoshiro's way.
Shiratori Arc (Volume 5, Episode 38-Volume 7, Episode 56)
Kyoshiro fights his pursuers as usual, but one day he spots a familiar face on one of his enemies. He is Mitsuru Shiratori, Kyoshiro's best friend from when the two were receiving military training at the welfare hospital of Kanto.
Kyoshiro is happy to see him again, but Shiratori points a katana at him and says, "You have developed treason disease." Shiratori is still under the brainwashing of the state, and Kyoshiro is in a position where he has no choice but to kill him, even if he is an old friend. Can Kyoshiro convince him to return to his old friend?
Oasis Farm Arc (Volume 8, Episode 57-Volume 9, Episode 72)
Yurika is ordered to the Special Electronics Development Office, and at the request of Haru, who works there, she mediates with Kyoshiro to rescue a girl named Saori.
He accepts the offer and infiltrates the Oasis farm, but is shocked by what he sees there: the harsh lives of ordinary citizens, the horrific ideological education, and his first sexual experience with a real woman.
Hideaki Arc (Volume 10, Episode 73-Volume 12, Episode 91)
During his journey, he comes across a scene where a creepy, monster-like human being is attacking soldiers. Unable to see it, he joins the soldiers and drives the monster away, but the person he saves is Hideaki Hakkaku, the son of Dr. Kiyotaka Hakkaku, the original owner of Babinski's brain.
After being saved, Hideaki begins to talk about why he went from being an opponent to supporting the Genomic Party, and how the Genomic Eugenic Protection Act came to be passed.
Arcadia Arc (Volume 12, Episode 92-Volume 15, Episode 116)
While Kyoshiro is engaged in a battle with military police, a mysterious airship suddenly saves him. They are the people from Arcadia, a small nation built on a remote island far from the control of the Genomic Party.It is a Night-watchman state built on an abandoned island where is uninhabitable and overrun by Fenrir,the failed designed human.
There, all the inhabitants make the most out of their ability , and under the leadership of their leader, Yuki, they work together to fight Fenrir and maintain peace. Yuki recognize Kyoshiro's fighting ability and asks him to join Arcadia and fight Fenrir together. Kyoshiro hopes that he might be able to live peacefully with Shino here, but...
Hokkaido Ark(Volume 15, Episode 117-Volume 20, Final Episode 157)
He lands in Hokkaido and meets Mumei, a designed human Buddhist monk who removes landmines by hand. Knowing that he also has a family he wants to save,The two brings together their skills and connections and head to the central government's electronic control center.

The hero of this manga. 25 years old.He was separated from his parents soon after birth as a type M gene abnormality and placed in welfare Hospital in Kanto. There, he trained as a soldier and joined the Air Force Youth Air Corps at the age of 14.
Yurika Komatsu／Shino (小松由利加／志乃)
The heroine of this story. She is 20 years old. She is a minor civil servant who manages virtual sex machines.
Babinski (バベンスキー)
A genius dog that has been transplanted with the cloned brain of Dr.Hakkaku and has absorbed the doctor's knowledge.
Asuka (飛鳥)
The computer that manages the virtual SEX machines in the central government's electronic control center.
