LAHEMA(3)JEEN

Lahem3ajeen is a very well-known dish around the Middle East. Consider it like an Arabian pie! It is primarily known as a Turkish-created dish around back in the late 1800s, however, there is versions of it in other countries like Syria that aren't as well known in the Western world.

Syrians in the late early 1900s began making this dish in a different yet unique way then the turks. Rich Syrians would often travel to Turkey and enjoy Turkish food, then when these rich Syrian families came back, they would demand their chefs to create the dish, that is how the first Lahem3ajeen in Syria was created, through a rich men's order.

The ingredients of the chef were similar to those of the Laahem3ajeen of Armenia, it included:

High-Quality Flour Tortillas, Extra Lean Ground Beef, Tomato Paste, Whole Canned Tomatoes, Onion, Garlic Clove, Fresh Parsley, Salt, Aleppo Pepper, Cumin

This dish grew its popularity within the oldest capital in the world Damascus, Syria. Damascus is old ancient streets were filled with food stands and vendors and soon the rich made dish was introduced to the big city.

Later it began making its way to the mountains becoming a signature dish at a very famous place called, Mora.
