Lendsqr, is a B2B financial technology company which provides lenders with cost-effective cloud-based loan management software and data.[1][2] to automate their entire lending operations and simplify the lending experience for their customers. [3][4][5]. The company is on a mission to make credit accessible to everyone by making it easier for lenders to reach borrowers at scale [6].

History[edit]

Lendsqr was founded in 2018 by Adedeji Olowe, a pioneer of open banking [7] in Nigeria and Africa. [8][9]

In 2020, Lendsqr introduced its lending-as-a-service platform to digitize and manage the entire lifecycle of lending for lenders in Africa.[2][3][4]

In March 2022 the company raised $1,000,000 in pre seed funding [7].

In January 2023, Lendsqr launched Karma, its proprietary blacklist engine, to help Nigerian lenders combat fraudulent activities and block loan defaulters in the lending ecosystem [10] n the February of the same year, the company launched Adjutor to deliver credit decision and KYC validation services, aiding lenders in making well-informed decisions.

In November 2023, Lendsqr joined 44 other startups in Nigeria in being awarded an AI research grant by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy of the Federal Government of Nigeria [11].

  • In 2022, Lendqr partnered with Freshworks to support startup lenders to deliver customer support and employee management experience [12]
  • In the same year, Lendsqr partnered with Mono to provide lenders with access to customers financial information and identity for better informed lending decisions and reduce risks associated with lending [13][6]
  • In 2023, Lendsqr partnered with Assuredly to launch its own direct debit system to generate and manage mandates for debits on their Lender’s customers [14]. Later in the same year, Lendsqr also resourced Assuredly to help optimize its lenders experience with the Lendsqr admin console [15]
