Leslie Julian Lipschitz (born February 18, 1951) is a US–South African economist[1] who has served in an array of senior positions at the International Monetary Fund.[2][1][3] He has also taught at Bowdoin College[4][5] and the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, been a guest scholar at the Brookings Institution, and served as the Global Strategic Advisor at Investec Asset Management[1](now Ninety One) in Cape Town and London.[3] He is a frequent guest commentator for Barron's newspaper. Lipschitz has an undergraduate degree from the University of Cape Town, an MSc from the London School of Economics, and a PhD from the University of London.[5]
