The Talmudical College was originally established after WW2 in Lugano, and later moved permanently and became famously as Luzern Talmudical Yeshiva College.

The Talmudical College was originally established in 1952 in an apartment in the town of Lugano, Switzerland by Rabbi Wolf Rosengarten and Reb Shmiel Goldman and as Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Moishe Soloweitcik.

In 1954 the Yeshiva moved to a building in BrambergStrasse 20, Luzern,

In 1965 the Stone was laid in a big ceremony to build the new purpose built College in Sackweid Strasse, Obernau, Luzern.

In 1968 was the great grand opening


In 1963 Rabbi Moishe Soloweitcik had to leave Luzern Kanton and moved to Zurich. And Harav Yitschock Dov Koppelman was called to take the leadership. (One of the most famous Talmidim of Rabbi Shimon Shkop of Grodna.) And he became the famous Lucerne Rosh Yeshiva after leading it for 60 Years.


Under Rabbi Koppelman's leadership the Yeshiva grew fast to over 200 Talmidim in the peak.

In 2011 he passed away, and his only son Rabbi Moshe Koppelman took over leadership, as noted in the will of the Rosh Yeshiva

In 2015 the building in Obernau closed its door
