Lucius Verus Bierce (August 4, 1801 – November 11, 1876) was an attorney in Akron, Ohio who served five terms as mayor of Akron[1] and was Commander-in-chief of the Patriot Army of the West during the Canada Patriot War of 1837-1839.

1840, 1842–1843, 1845–1846, 1849, and 1867–1868.

Bierce organized Union Army recruits. Ambrose Bierce is his nephew.[2]

Bierce Library at the University of Akron is named for him.
