Maureen Rosemary Wright (born 1933) is a British classicist. She received a B.Litt from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, and an M.A. in London. After positions at the University of Queensland, Australia and the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and a fellowship at the Center for Hellenic Studies at Harvard University and a Senior Lectureship at the University of Reading, she was Professor at the University of Wales, Lampeter, where she was Head of Department from 1995 to 2000. She is now emeritus.
Wright's work focuses on ancient philosophy. She received widespread attention for her revised and updated translation of the Fragments of Empedocles. Other topics include ancient cosmology, Plato's Timaeus, Cicero's positions on Stoic philosophy, and the pre-Socratics.
